Le réalisateur a voulu montrer limportance de la nature à travers son film et la place de lHomme dans ce vaste monde quest notre planète Terre. Lévolution de la Science et de la condition humaine y prennent une place essentielle. « On a souvent tendance à décréter quun film fait partie du genre science-fiction lorsquil se passe dans lespace et dans le futur. Celui-ci se passe sur Terre à une époque plus proche quon ne pourrait le croire soit en 2030. Une fiction scientifique est une uvre dans laquelle il est à priori question de lévolution de la Science et de la condition humaine, il est donc normal que cette uvre se déroule dans le futur les rues , les appareils et les machines sont inexistants dans New Age. La nature par contre est omniprésente, elle fait partie du décor, les animaux aussi. Notamment le cheval , une très grande place lui est accordé dans New Age.
